MARCH 2ND, 2008 (ENCORE PRESENTATION) OBAMA '08 & HARLEM4OBAMA.COM

On January 23rd, 1972 the African American Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm from New York State, caused controversy when she placed herself in the race for president of the United States. Chisholm's moxie paved the way for other African Americans like; Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton and Illinois Senator Carol Moseley-Braun to also make a run for it. Now in 2008, not only has African American Senator Barack Obama – also from Illinois, taken up the challenge of the presidential race, he actually stands a fair chance against the Democratic favorite Hillary Clinton. Obama has received endorsements from prestigious politicians and public figures of all racial backgrounds and at the time of taping this show, he has secured victory in the Iowa and South Carolina Democratic primaries. Today you'll hear from three young African American Obama campaign staffers, who are working tirelessly to elect our first African American President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.
