FEBRUARY 10TH, 2008 (ENCORE PRESENTATION) MY LIL' STAR
To kick off Initiative Radio's month long salute to Black history makers,
Angela sits down with Steve Marcano, a dynamic, successful, African American
entrepreneur - under the age of forty. This South Bronx native first felt
entrepreneurial stirrings when he delivered chicken and pizza as a young
boy. Fast forward to 2002, Marcano established My Lil' Star the first
and only minority owned and operated baby product company and in 2004
the company embarked upon a national marketing campaign launching diapers,
wipes, bottles, bibs and apparel endorsed by A-list celebrity moms. This
lively and inspiring broadcast is not to be missed.

THE UNITED NATIONS
FOR THE NATIONAL SPIRITUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE BAHA'I S OF THE UNITED STATES
From, business, to politics, to diplomacy, African Americans are making
strides once unimaginable. Today, Angela visits the United Nations (UN)
to meet Carl Murrell, who has been the Alternate Representative to the
UN for the Baha'i s of the USA since 1991. In this hour, we learn that
through the mentoring of an African woman, Carl rose through the ranks
of the Baha'i organization to embark upon a career that has taken him
to many parts of the world. His lengthy curriculum vitae highlights his
contributions to UN and Baha'i related initiatives that aim to bring global
harmony, environmental sustainability and gender equality. This is no
stuffy show though, Carl has a keen sense of humor and you will definitely
be floored by stories about his dancing days at New York City's Studio

MARCH 2ND, 2008 (ENCORE PRESENTATION) OBAMA '08 & HARLEM4OBAMA.COM
On January 23rd, 1972 the African American Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm
from New York State, caused controversy when she placed herself in the
race for president of the United States. Chisholm's moxie paved the way
for other African Americans like; Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton
and Illinois Senator Carol Moseley-Braun to also make a run for it. Now
in 2008, not only has African American Senator Barack Obama – also
from Illinois, taken up the challenge of the presidential race, he actually
stands a fair chance against the Democratic favorite Hillary Clinton.
Obama has received endorsements from prestigious politicians and public
figures of all racial backgrounds and at the time of taping this show,
he has secured victory in the Iowa and South Carolina Democratic primaries.
Today you'll hear from three young African American Obama campaign staffers,
who are working tirelessly to elect our first African American President
and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.
