Agazi Tsegai. Founder
East Side Pleasures (Uniting Africans in New York City)
In the early 1980's, Eritrean born Agazi Tsegai escaped to Sudan with
his parents as refugees, avoiding the perils of Eritrea's war with Ethiopia.
In the end, his family immigrated and settled in the Bronx, New York City.
Today, armed with an American education, his innate entrepreneurial skills
and a desire to unite Africans abroad, Agazi established the event planning
company East Side Pleasures. In fact, his business partner Sirak, one
of the city’s most popular disc jockeys, is an Ethiopian. In this
hour, listeners will learn about Eritrea’s history, and the beauty
of her people and culture, while hearing a sampling of music from the
African continent

ANTON Bernard
Dub Poet
Since childhood days in Trinidad and Tobago, dub poet ANTON has always
had a love for the written and spoken word. As a young man, he witnessed
a “Midnight Robbers” session in his hometown (an event that
can be likened to inner city America’s hip-hop battle rhyme contests)
and knew immediately that he was destined to write and recite meaningful
poetry. On the heels of his book It’s Time We Speak, ANTON along
with a group of seasoned musicians, hit the recording studio to birth
his first full length CD This Is What I Do. Through word and sound, he
expresses his views on love, justice, injustice, hope and much more, in
a passionate and unpretentious fashion - fit for all ages. The cut Complex
has already received favorable listener response from the Initiative Radio
audience. Tune in to hear Complex and other great tracks from the album.
